Our Story

The Bonney family farms reach back generations to the grandfather of afro-funk musician Itadi K Bonney. In the early 1900s, our great-grandfather, a man who didn’t bear any sons, fought against tradition for his daughter, the mother of Itadi K. Bonney, to inherit his land. Extensive parcels of her land were given to her first born son, Itadi. On a parcel tucked deep in the mountains of Togo, is a coffee bean, indigenous and wild, that is being cultivated and brought to the US for the very first time. From the sons and daughter of ITADI, and from his wife who survived him. Our connection to West Africa and the rich earth of Togo is in each bag of ITADI Coffee. Share in a bit of our family’s heritage and our love for our beloved father’s home country with each hot and cold brew.
